  • Nuclear Power Programme:India has limited uranium but vast thorium reserves which are one of the world’s largest. The Indian Nuclear Power Programme is geared towards using these reserves. It is a three stage programme on commercial scale covering building of presurrised heavy water reactor, fast breeds reactors and thorium based reactors. The programme also includes technology development relating to spent fuel reprocessing, waste management, safety and environment monitoring
